Red Hot Chilli Peppers film Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie

I’m back after a long pause in posting!   Having my computer crash was a bigger ordeal than I thought it would be.  It took days for them to set up my new computer and then days after than for me to organize the info that was transferred and redo the article I was working on.  Finally, we are back on track 🙂

What started as a lazy day at Venice Beach the other day ended as the day I watched the Red Hot Chili Peppers film there new music video “Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie”!!!!!  As I was walking back to the car a saw people gathered around one of the apartments and a “crew” of some sort on the roof.  After asking around I found out that there was going to be a music video filmed right there!  So a grab Alpha and started snapping pics.  Only in LA can you be walking down the side walk and a music video breaks out!!!

Sure enough there was the band headed up the stairs!  Anthony stopped to say hi to the people that he pasted.  Supper cool of him!!!!

As the band started playing the crowd started growing.  Hundreds and hundreds of people stopped to be a part of the moment and enjoy the free show.  In true Cali fashion everyone was nice and calm, no one pushed and the crowd even made room for people just passing through.  The atmosphere was amazing!  People were just enjoying the music and hanging out.  There were cops and but they didn’t need to do anything.  The crowd stayed a safe distance from the building and no trouble was being caused.  This is something I really admire about the people out here.  I don’t know if it’s because you see famous people a lot and crazy things like music videos being filmed on your roof or what, but the people out here really don’t freak out, they just enjoy and relax 🙂  Maybe it’s all the medical marijuana 😉 hahahaha!!!!

On break Josh and Flea were talking to the crowd and playing around.  It seemed like RHCP was having a blast with this video and being in front of a crowd for the first time in a while.

The crowd spread all the way around muscle beach as far as you could see.

Oh and in case you forgot I was in Venice, yep there is a really tall guy just randomly walking through.

After hanging out for an hour or so I figured it was time to move on.  I took a few pics from a distance so you can see all the people on their rooftops dancing away!

My friends and I strolled down to the Venice Whaler for a bite to eat.

As we left the Whaler and were walking to the car I snapped some photos of the walk.  Venice has this unique feeling all its own.  It’s eccentric and weird with a buzzing energy that makes you feel like there is always something about to happen.  It’s like the vampires from Lost Boys could ride by on their bikes at any moment and it wouldn’t seem that strange.  I absolutely adore this town for all the crazy it is.

Here is the Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie music video -nothing was staged or prompted in the crowd, this is just what people did.  I love how they encompassed the feeling of Venice Beach, because this is really the kind of thing that happens there on a random day in July!  Enjoy 😉
