 The helicopter of course!!!

There isn’t a lot to say about this helicopter ride because most of the pics speak for themselves! I can only say that it is a must do if you are in Kauai and Mount Waiʻaleʻale is the most awe inspiring thing I have ever seen next to Notre dame in Paris. We got to fly into the heart of this old volcano, truly a sight you must see with you own eyes! So here I go up up and away!!!!!!

Awe man I totally failed at remaining smart and have succumbed completely to being a beach bum, hang ten and all….

No I don’t have any idea as to what I’m looking at half the time, but isn’t it cool??!!

Look at these waterfalls!!!!!!!  So beautiful!

Waimea Canyon- Kauai’s Grand Canyon.

Ok so here we go… we are rounding the corner into Mount Waiʻaleʻale the wettest place on earth raining 452 inches a year and the second highest point on Kauai elevation of 5,148 feet.  As we come around the corner we actually fly into the crevasse of the volcano and along the colossal walls that create the half circle surrounding it.  There is no way to put into words how huge this is and no picture can ever give you prospective.  It’s one of those things that make your hair stand up on end because it is just that amazing to behold.

To give you an idea of how big the “cavern” that we are in is, if you look close you can see another helicopter flying by….

As we fly out of Mount Waiʻaleʻale and back to the landing area we pass a beautiful waterfall.  So I decide that’s it!  I’m going to hike into the jungle and find a waterfall tomorrow 🙂  and that’s precisely what I did…

Check back for my hike in the jungle to find a waterfall, boy did I bite of more than I could chew.  Six hours and a busted knee later…. but that has to wait for the next post.
